BlackBerry Q20 Release Date: BB 10 Smartphone Rumored Specs Incl. 3.5” Display, Quad-Core Processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB Memory; ‘The Classic’ Boasts Better Web, Media Browsing, Battery Life, More Apps

BlackBerry Q20 release date: Powered by a quad-core processor and a Snapdargon 800 chipset that runs on the latest BB 10 OS, the BlackBerry Q20 or the "Classic" sports a 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory (expandable up to 64 GB), and a 3.5" TFT capacitive touchscreen, according to gsmarc.com reports.

With the upcoming release of Apple's frontrunner, November will definitely be an action-packed month for smartphone enthusiasts.

But don't count BlackBerry out just yet. With the release of the BlackBerry Classic, along with the BlackBerry BES12 as its two flagship models, the Canadian company aims to bounce back into the market alive and kicking.

BlackBerry CEO John Chen claimed that the BB Classic is the company's latest and biggest advancement when it came to speedy web and multimedia browsing capabilities.

With a rumored resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 582 ppi, the Q20's TFT capacitive touchscreen and overall design is said to be inspired by the Bold series. It has kept BB's QWERTY trademark along with the traditional command keys such as 'Menu,' 'Back,' 'Send' and 'End' buttons, along with a track pad.

CEO Chen said to USA Today, "So, all the familiar things that people love, with some new technology updated. That will come out in November along with the server that helps companies manage devices. Not only the BlackBerry device, but every device, the iPhone and androids and Windows and everything else. So, the new products will have a lot to do with the architecture."

With its hopeful comeback this November, BlackBerry's still downfall is the thinner selection of apps that its operating system can offer.

In its continuous efforts to amend this, an official announced last June that the Amazon Appstore will be available with the launch of the BlackBerry 10.3 operating system. This will allow more than 240,000 Android applications such as Netflix, Pinterest, and Minecraft to be available for BB users.

"Making the Amazon Appstore available on BlackBerry 10 devices will help BlackBerry continue to meet two essential needs: greater app availability for our smartphone users and enhanced productivity solutions for enterprises," CEO Chen said in a press release.
