Miami Heat Vs Cleveland Cavaliers Headline NBA Christmas Day Games! The Most Awaited Encounter Features LeBron James Against His Former City!

The NBA Christmas Day games are always a top priority. It is a day when most people stay home and the NBA sees that as an opportunity to attract new fans. Of course, they want the biggest, most interesting games shown on that date.

Next season, there is no game more anticipated than the Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers. There are so many backstories and subplots that everyone's is buzzing about it as early as now. It seems like a no-brainer and the official schedule is not out yet, but there is already a report from the Miami Herald:

"Barring an unexpected change of heart by the NBA, Christmas in Miami will feature LeBron James' much-anticipated return to Miami in an opposing uniform.

Though the NBA's schedule will not be finalized and released until mid-August, an unofficial internal schedule of select games has Cleveland playing the Heat in Miami on Christmas on ABC, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The game likely would be played at either 2:30 p.m. or 5 p.m, depending on what other game is selected for ABC that day.

ABC wants Heat-Cavaliers on Christmas, and the NBA is sensitive to the network's wishes."

ABC, the network that holds the rights for the Christmas games, would not have a hard time marketing the game. All throughout the internet, through major sports news sites and blogs, news on LeBron James and the aftermath of his departure are delivered almost on a daily basis.

But there is a slim chance we don't have to wait that long. The Sun Sentinel has a report that there is already a pre-season exhibition game scheduled between the two:

"The Miami Heat will face a familiar face before playing for real this coming season, with the preseason schedule released Tuesday featuring the previously announced Oct. 11 exhibition against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Rio de Janeiro.

That game was announced April 10, before LeBron James' free-agent move to the Cavaliers. The game also will feature Cleveland center Anderson Varejao, a native of Sana Teresa, Brazil."

Being a pre-season exhibition, there's a big chance one or both of the teams would not use its full roster. Also, there are no stakes involved. Still, that exhibition game must be sold out in a minute.
