Allison Williams, daughter of NBC news anchor Brian Williams, is the new Peter Pan. Williams will star as the forever young boy wonder in NBC's live musical production of the classic Peter Pan stage show. Allison Williams joins Christopher Walken who previously announced to co-star as Captain Hook.

In a press statement, Allison Williams said "I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true. It's such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I'm very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides, what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?"

Peter Pan's executive producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, said in a statement: "Allison Williams is a major find. She will reinvent the iconic role of Peter Pan with her wit, her warmth, her dynamic flying and her wonderful musical abilities.  The score will be sung beautifully and introduced to a whole new generation of families."

NBC's chairman Robert Greenblatt added that Williams "will bring the perfect blend of 'boyish' vulnerability and bravado to save the day against Christopher Walken's powerful Captain Hook."

Lena Dunham who stars on HBO's series "Girls" took to Twitter to congratulate her co-star Williams, tweeting "Allison is about to undertake one of the greatest drag roles in history and we are so proud we could burst. She will slay."

Williams is the daughter of NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams. She graduated from Yale University in 2010. S, Williams starred as Marnie Michaels on HBO's Emmy-nominated series "Girls." She also sang on the "Girls" soundtrack and appeared in the show's viral videos. Williams also appeared on such TV shows as the comedy "The Mindy Project" and "The League."

Peter Pan will be telecast on NBC on Dec. 4.
