Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Tipped To Be Earlier Than IFA Event? Notable Specs Incl. 5.7" QHD Display, 3GB RAM, Fingerprint Scanner, 16MP OIS Shooter

For months, it is almost a consensus in the industry that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date would be set during the IFA event in Berlin from September 5-10.

However, a new report claims that the release date could be even earlier, veering away from Samsung's previous schedules.

According to a report by Android Authority, The Korea Times reported that the Android-powered flagship phablet would be unveiled as early as September 3, a couple of days before IFA officially begins.

In the report, it appears that Samsung wants as much leverage as possible over Apple and its upcoming iPhone 6 smartphones. Previous reports claim that the 4.7-inch version will be launched in September while the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 phablet would make its way to the market by late November or early December.

Could that mean the Korean manufacturer is scared that more consumers would choose the Cupertino giant's new iPhone now that it is bigger, and we're just talking about the 4.7-inch edition.

Samsung will be looking to regain some momentum in the mobile market where it has not done well in this year so far, with sales falling from the first up to the second quarter. The company's hope lies on the Galaxy Note 4 phablet, which would certainly be among the most anticipated Android devices this year.

The Galaxy Note 4 follows on the success of the highly-popular Galaxy Note 3. The new version of the Android phablet is tipped to pack a 5.7-inch display with Quad HD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, either an Exynos 5433 chipset with octa-core CPU or a quad-core Snapdragon 805 chip, and a 16MP primary camera with optical image stabilization.

In the report, the device will also get Samsung Galaxy S5's features such as the heart-rate monitor, fingerprint scanner, and a UV sensor which would be a first for any smartphone.
