Upcoming Blackberry Phones 2014: Z3 Finally Hitting Singapore After BB Handset Enjoyed Decent Sales In Asia

For the past months, the Android market has continuously expanded thanks to some high-end and midrange releases from world-renowned manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC and LG.

However, that would not stop Blackberry from releasing new upcoming Blackberry phones for this quarter, and one of the upcoming devices next month would be the square-shaped Blackberry Passport.

But in case you are still a fan of the traditional bar-type device, then the Blackberry Z3 could be a better fit for your needs.

The BB OS-powered device packs midrange specs, though it will give you a breath of fresh air from the Android ecosystem.

The Blackberry Z3 boasts a 5-inch display with qHD (960 x 540) display, Snapdragon 400 chipset, dual-core CPU, and 8GB of internal storage.

In the report, the Blackberry Z3 has already passed Singapore's Infocomm Development Authority, which means it may be released in the Asian market sooner rather than later.

Aside from the Z3 which has been successful in emerging markets in Asia, another upcoming Blackberry handset is the Passport, which packs a square-ish design, thanks to its QWERTY keypad which Blackberry loyalists will surely love.

It's almost been a year since news broke out that Blackberry wants to sell the company due to poor sales, primarly caused by huge flops such as the Blackberry Z10 and Z30. The manufacturer tried to take on Android directly and while the hardware is decent, the operating system is far from competitive.

What's interesting to point out is that Blackberry decided to launch the Passport, together with anothe handset, the Blackberry Classic in September where Android heavyweights are going to launch their respective flagships. And in case you forgot, Apple's upcoming 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will also make its debut early next month.

Can Blackberry still have a decent market share in spite all of these rivals?
