Skull Island Movie Release Date To Be Announced Soon! King Kong Prequel To Pave Way For A Godzilla Showdown

Skull Island movie release date has been announced during Comic Con.

Legendary Entertainment officially released a movie clip teasing the shocked fans and then announcing that the project is scheduled for release on Nov. 4, 2016.

The film is being dubbed as King Kong prequel. Skull Island is said to be a mystery land where monsters live.

Legendary Entertainment's CEO Thomas Tull stated:

"We have been tinkering around with one thing," Tull said, according to MTV, and so a clip from the film was revealed.

Mashable who saw the teaser claimed that the upcoming "Skull Island" movie is looking like a big hit for Legendary Entertainment.

"The teaser started with the camera panning over a roiling sea, leading to an island of dense jungle and obscured beasts. The shot tracked into a skull-shaped rock outcropping where something stirred - something big - and then rose, with the dark profile of a giant ape. He roared, he beat his chest, and the words 'Legendary's Skull Island' appeared," the publication reported.

"Previous works have touched on the island, but staying and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions. The film will be released on November 4, 2016."

While the announcement came as a surprise, speculations are now circulating that Legendary Entertainment might be building a Marvel-like universe that will launch a entire franchise of kaiju, thus a King Kong vs. Godzilla movie is indeed a possibility.

"Previous works have touched on the island, but staying and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions," according to Legendary Pictures

Skull Island movie release date is on November 4, 2016.
