According to the Toronto Sun, "Extant" shifted from its 9pm timeslot to 10pm due to Halle Berry's TV series' disappointing ratings in comparison to "Under the Dome," CBS' summer event series last year," the Toronto Sun reports.

IGN also reports CBS is scheduling the one-hour finale of "Extant" for 10 p.m. September 17, one week earlier than originally planned.

According to Deadline, "Extant" was supposed to wrap up its season with a two-hour finale September 24, right after the first episode of the new season of "Survivor," the publication writes. The shift is likely a move to keep the finale separate from premiere week competition, according to IGN.
