Android Apps Free Download: 'Flappy Bird' Successor Will Offer The Same Addictive Gameplay, But Will It Get Similar Popularity?

Earlier this year, one of the most popular Android apps free for download became a worldwide phenomenon. And no one thought

Flappy Bird is a simple game with 64-bit graphics, but its addictive gameplay resulted in breakups, sickness, and smashed smartphones around the world.

However, its developer Don Nguyen stopped the game from reaching its full potential when he took down the app from the Play Store.

But now, the Vietnamese developer is back and will soon offer a successor to his Flappy Bird.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Flappy Bird successor would be called Swingcopter and will offer similar gameplay but with a different direction, and I mean literally.

While Flappy Bird's direction is to the right, while it bobs up and down to avoid obstacles. This time, the gameplay would be different. The helicopter's direction is upwards and it will need to move right and left so avoid crashing on what looks like cranes. (I just don't know how those cranes got up there)

Because the direction of the main character would be upward, it will be interesting to see if the developer places some cues as to where you are already like clouds, space, or even celestial bodies.

There's no exact date yet when Swingcopter will make it to the Play Store and once again ruin phones and eat up free time.

Meanwhile, Don Nguyen is also developing another version of Flappy Bird which is said to have a versus mode. It looks like the developer is really back and is continuing where he left off. The only point of concern here is that this particular game genre could be outdated already and fewer people would support these types of games.

When Swing Copter goes live, we'll see.
