Simpsons Marathon On FXX To Include 552 Episodes Including Film; Simpsons World App To Also Come Out And Allow Viewers To Curate Favorite Episodes, Quotes, And More!

Fans of the Springfield-based family will be delighted as the Simpsons marathon on FXX officially starts tonight. Last April, the network announced that it would air the longest marathon in the television history.

The Simpsons marathon on FFX will run from August 21 until September 1 with 552 episodes coming from the show's 25 seasons. Even the "Simpsons Movie" will be shown after the 400th episode.

For those who cannot religiously tune in, FXX will be broadcasting a mini-marathon every Sunday with eight episodes. The mini-marathon will start at 4 p.m. ET/PT. IGN has released a complete Simpsons FXX marathon schedule.

Meanwhile, the Simpsons World app is also expected to be released soon. The app promises to give viewers the ultimate Simpsons experience. According to Hitflix, fans will be able to curate their own episodes playlists through the app.

The Simpsons World app will also enable viewers to search for their favorite jokes or quotes easily. Furthermore, the app will offer an "exhaustive episode guide" which will feature behind-the-scenes, historical references, and more.

"The show has something funny to say about everything. People want to find those quotes and shat them. It's a place for the consumer to go get it and share it," said John Landgraf, FX Productions CEO.

The app is preparing for an October 2014 launch. It will be available on iPhone, Android phones and tablets, iPad, Samsung gadgets, Apple TV, and Xbox One.
