The "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" filming continues to feed the internet with more speculation fodder. Warner Bros. knows that there are eagle eyes watching all around. A sighting of Scoot McNairy with green CGI gear leads to the general assumption that he'll play The Flash! Was that too easy?

 The photos of  Scoot McNairy were taken while he was on break from filming, and it doesn't seem like he was attempting to hide the green socks which imply impending CGI work. Rumors about Scoot playing The Flash instantly spread like wildfire on the internet. Was Warner/DC upset-or was that their plan all along?

It's a tricky world out there and the game is more complicated. Cinema Blend formulated a theory that The Flash was just a successful misdirection. They state:

"Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman projects deeper down Bruce Wayne's timeline, as we know. We won't endure a fresh origin story. Wayne will already have been Batman for a long time. In fact, there had been rumors that Ben Affleck's Batcave will contain a memorial to a tattered Robin costume. Perhaps we'll learn that Dick Grayson was physically damaged fighting alongside Batman, and that these injuries forced him out of the crime-fighting life? Maybe McNairy plays a psychologically damaged Dick Grayson, and Robin's legs will be mangled (digitally, in post-production)?"

The 'rumors' about the tattered Robin costume actually came from Badass Digest:

"In this version Batman is still an urban legend, a creature of the night, and no one has ever taken his picture. But he's had plenty of adventures, and the Batcave includes a memorial centered around a tattered Robin costume."

Batman is a mysterious figure-different from "The Dark Knight Rises" and he is in his mid-40s. The initial description is that Batman is old and weary. These rumors have sprung from a year ago but the idea that he is weary was never quite elaborated. Was he actually grieving?

These are all speculation at this point, and we will learn more about Scoot McNairy's identity in the coming weeks.
