Kanye West’s Migraine in Aussie Yeezus Tour 2014: Not Serious; Melbourne Crowd Chants With The Rapper

Hours before his concert in Melbourne, rapper Kanye West was rushed to Melbourne's Epworth Hospital in Richmond as he is reported to be suffering from migraine that might impede him in besting his performance at the Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday. Despite commotion in the hospital, Kim Kardashian assured media that it is not a serious case.

Kim is in a hotel in Sydney while her spouse Kanye is preparing for his concert in Melbourne. In a phone interview with the Herald Sun, the selfie queen said that Kanye is feeling better and on its way to recovery.  "He is feeling better; it's just precautionary to go to the doctor if you're not feeling well to make sure you have a good show."

Hospital personnel also refused to give public statements as to cause and severity of the rapper's migraine as such information is considered private and subject to the patient's approval.

"Yesterday afternoon we had 50 people in our emergency department. All were treated with respect and according to the severity of their symptoms. "We do not discuss or talk publicly about our patients without their approval." Epworth Hospital spokeswoman Colleen Coghlan said in an interview.

Woman's Day, one of the first to cover the incident had a witness named Loraine Terry who attested how the crowd in the hospital panicked when the 37-year old rapper was sent in. She is in the hospital for her daughter's MRI.

"Everyone was moved out of the waiting and consulting rooms. We were the only ones left apart from doctors and nurses - we couldn't leave as the MRI wasn't finished. Next thing we knew, Kanye was stretchered in surrounded by security. He had one side of his face covered with something white. We both knew it was him because we had seen his photo in the paper everyday and we were shocked because it looked so serious." Terry confided to Woman's Day in an exclusive interview.

Kanye is reported to have been released from the hospital around 4:30pm for his show later that night.

"Kanye went on stage last night in Melbourne as scheduled. The tour continues at Sydney's Qantas Credit Union Arena tomorrow and Saturday, before concluding in Brisbane on Monday night," a Live Nation spokeswoman said confirming that West is doing well in his show.

A source from The Vine who has witnessed the rapper's concert also expressed his admiration towards the West's energy-packed performance in the Rod Laver Arena that night and labeled him as rap god. "While everyone was still squibbling over who the real king of hip-hop was, Kanye stepped out of the fray and pronounced himself as a god. And it's true, seeing him live, you realise there is actually no other rapper today who is worshipped or held in the same reverence by his fans like Kanye is."
