Windows 9 Slated To Be Unveiled On September 30; Microsoft Confirmed News, Sent Out Invitations

Windows 9 will reportedly be unveiled on September 30, as previous reports suggested, and Microsoft confirmed the news.

According to The Verge, Windows 9 along with other news and products of Microsoft will be discussed on the company's press event slated at the end of the month.

Invitations for the event in San Francisco have reportedly been emailed to concerned parties. And the invitation reportedly mentioned Joe Belfiore and Terry Myerson as spearheading the discussions regarding the company.

Apart from Microsoft company updates, a "Windows Technical Preview" will also be slated for businesses and developers to explore.

While the announced program did not divulge details and released a vague statement of "Join us to hear about what's next for Windows and the enterprise," many expect it to include the unveiling of "Project Threshold" which was originally slated for an early 2015 release.

Prior to the event announcement, a number of Windows 9 leaks have been thrown out on the Internet, showing updates including a new Start menu - which will reportedly be a combination of the Windows 7 and Windows 8 start menus, a notification center and a lot more.

In a recent report, some of the features of the new operating system were revealed and piqued the interest of many. One of the many changes that were suggested include the omission of the Charms bar, which pops out on the right side of a Windows 8 desktop.

One of the reported highlights of Windows 9, which coincides with Microsoft's re-branding of the Windows Phone, is its compatibility with mobile devices.

While the technical preview will only give a feel of what can be expected from the operating system and updates will be provided and rolled out once it has been formally launched and released, the anticipation for Windows 9 and its supposed unveiling at the end of the month has been evident.
