Upcoming LG Phones 2014: Phone Maker Preparing Android Flip Phone With Gorgeous Design? Boasts Dual Touchscreen, Android OS

This Korean phone maker is not really known for its flip phones, but according to a new report, one of the upcoming LG phones for 2014 will be a clamshell device that will run on Android.

According to a report by Phone Arena, the manufacturer has been hosting a giveaway of the new Wine Smart smartphone in Korea, though nothing has been made official regarding the device.

LG has been developing its 'Wine' lineup of flip feature phones for a while now, but it looks like this 'Smart' phone will be a smartphone that runs on Android.

In the report, the device will pack a dual touchscreen, one at the top of the device when it is closed, and another inside the device when it is flipped open. The screen measurements were not revealed, but Samsung's Galaxy Golden flip Android phone has two 3.67-inch screens on either side of the top part.

For now we can only speculate the specs of this Android device, but one thing is for sure - there is still a market that prefers smartphones with physical keypads.

One of the proofs of this claim is the re-emergence of Blackberry in the market, particularly in Asia. Its newest smartphones include the Blackberry Passport and Blackberry Classic, both sporting physical QWERTY keypads.

While flip phones don't have QWERTY keypads, some consumers prefer them because they can be more compact than most flagship smartphones, and these devices running on Android is not common nowadays.
