Cleveland Cavaliers News: 4 Reasons Why Cavs Won't Win NBA Title In Their First Year Together

It's all good news for the Cleveland Cavaliers as the team transformed from a fringe NBA team to a title contender for next season.

LeBron James went back home after four years, and led to a series of acquisitions to provide the veteran support to a young team. James' former Heat teammates Mike Miller and James Jones joined the mix. Another key signin for the Cavs is veteran Shawn Marion, who will be tasked to be the team's defensive enforcer down low.

Late last month, Kevin Love has also officially suited for Cleveland, creating the next big three of the league, featuring James, Kyrie Irving and Love.

However, just like the Miami Heat of 2010, there are some reasons why this new-look Cavs team will fail to win an NBA title in their first year as a team:

4. Lack Of Playing Time Together

More than half of this team's current roster has not played a single NBA game together, and that would mean something when it comes to chemistry. While teams often function together by following plays, what separates a team from others is its ability to run plays by instinct, and that comes after playing a long time together.

3. Complacency

As one of the few teams in the NBA to be favorites to make it to the Finals, this fairly young Cavs team may become too complacent. If you're up against top-notch NBA competition in the East which has underdogs in it, complacency should not be an option. Even in a heavily-favored series, the Cavs could lose in the playoffs if the team fails to keep in check their confidence level.

2. Irving and Love's Defensive Flaws Revealed

We all know that James, Irving and Love will play together and would wreck havoc in offense. However, we also know that both Irving and Love are not well known for their defensive qualities. In a starting lineup that will feature only James and an aging Anderon Varejao as real defenders, the Cavs may have a difficult time winning against teams which score heaps of points.

1. Change Of Roles Problem

In their respective teams, all three members of the Cavs' big three are superstars. However, this time around they will need to sacrifice their numbers, stats, and even their touches in order to involve everyone in the game. While the adjustment for this particular issue can be shortened, Cleveland will definitely have a problem if all three players would not be able to fully grasp their respective roles in the team.
