Microsoft OneNote Launched On Android Wear; Updated On iOS 8

Microsoft OneNote will reportedly be made part of the recently unveiled Android watches and its version for the iOs will also be updated.

According to PC Mag, Microsoft OneNote for Android Wear, a specific Android version of the PC app, has been made available for downloading and installation from the Google Play Store on September 16.

Owners of the Samsung Gear Live, LG G Watch or the Moto 360 will reportedly have the ability to virtually store notes by dictating them after giving the command "Ok Google, take a note."

Microsoft made the app available for some of its other platforms as well including handheld devices that function with the operating system Windows Phone 8.1.

Albeit having similarities in essence, the app will reportedly be launched for Windows Phones as Office Lens. The app, according to Tech Radar, will allow users to snap photos of documents and notes or writings on boards and walls and create digital copies of them.

Photos of documents will reportedly be converted into Word files and photos of notes on whiteboards will take the form of a Powerpoint file when digitized.

According to Microsoft Office's blog, "all Word and PowerPoint files are automatically saved to OneDrive, where they can be opened and edited from any device or even in your browser."

While the move to offer the note-taking app for Android and Windows devices did not seem like a surprise considering it has been on the market for quite a while now, its update on iOS devices is quite notable.

According to The Verge, the offering in itself and the update of the app on iOS devices is "another example of Microsoft's willingness to support rival platforms."

The app update for users of iPhones and iPads will reportedly include a share functionality which will allow one to send any content from any app to OneNote. One can reportedly share photos from the your phone's library or a website you're browsing on Safari to the app.

Microsoft OneNote downloads and upgrades for the mentioned devices and platforms can be availed starting yesterday.
