New Amazon Fire Tablets Released; Kindle Voyage Announced

Technology giants appeared to be on a gadget launch roll these past few days. On September 17, new Amazon Fire tablets were launched, along with a new Kindle, a Fire keyboard and the Fire OS 4.

The three new Amazon Fire tablets appeared to offer something for everybody, with a Fire HD Kids Edition, a six-inch, low-priced Fire HD, and a Fire HDX.

The new 6-inch screen Fire HD will reportedly be sold at $99; and the 7-inch one will be sold for $139.

The Fire HD Kids Edition is reportedly sporting a 6-inch screen, which is similar to the new generic Fire HD but has a rubber bumper. While the exterior did not impress much, the warranty promised the edge of the tablet.

"Despite best intentions, kids break things. Fire HD Kids Edition has an unprecedented 2-year worry-free guarantee - if they break it, we'll replace it. No questions asked," said Amazon in a statement.

The Fire HDX is reportedly slated to people who do not scrimp on gadgets with its $379 price tag.

Amazon described the tablet as having "an incredible amount of technology and innovation."

"The new Fire HDX [has] an exclusive HDX display, a powerful quad-core processor, a 70 percent faster graphics engine, exceptional audio with Dolby Atmos, and the fastest Wi-Fi," the statement continued.

The tech giant also churned out the Kindle Voyage, which will reportedly be sold for $199 and has a touch-screen and is back-lit.

According to a statement, Amazon explained the difference of the new Kindle to its predecessors, saying: "Kindle Voyage uses a brand new Paperwhite display, with the highest resolution, highest contrast, and highest brightness of any Kindle. With 300 pixels per inch, the new Paperwhite display delivers laser-quality text and images."

The tech giant did not only focus on hardware as it also launched the latest version of the Fire OS, which is called "Sangria."

"Fire OS 4 is based on KitKat and adds features and services to make it faster and easier to use," said Amazon. "For example, Fire OS includes ASAP (Advanced Streaming and Prediction) which predicts the movies and TV episodes you'll want to watch and starts them instantly."

Along with the new OS and the new Amazon Fire tablets, the tech company also released a Bluetooth keyboard.
