A lot of drama is in store for audiences awaiting "The Newsroom" season 3, as creator Aaron Sorkin teased Kat Dennings' inclusion in the cast and how the story will pan out.

While approaching an end is a sad affair, Sorkin reassured that "The Newsroom" season 3 will be "a really solid season."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sorkin opened up about his masterpiece's final run and talked a bit about what Dennings' part in the show will be.

Dennings will reportedly play the character of Jerry's half-sister, who owns 45 percent of the stock in the company.

Sorkin also explained why the final season will be cramped to only six episodes. "It was because of my schedule," he said. "But, as it turned out, six was the right number. I don't know what we would have done with a seventh episode."

He already gave a very little preview of what the final installment's story will include. "It's something that we've been talking about for the last two years: government and journalism," Sorkin said. "It involves one of our characters in a lot of jeopardy."

While he did not want to divulge much about the storyline, Sorkin was generous enough to share that a wedding is happening and that there is tension in the relationship of Jim and Hallie.

When asked about how he feels about the last leg of his show, Sorkin answered: "I'm really excited. I do feel it's a really solid season. I think we're wrapping up a lot of stories in a nice way. I miss everybody already but I'm in the editing room every day with the show so for me I don't have postpartum depression yet. But that will come, I promise."

Sorkin also shared that he did not know how "The Newsroom" season 3 would end but revealed that it all got sorted out. "The closer I got to the end of the season in terms of writing, the more I was able to see the end of the season finale. Once we got there, it happened more easily than I thought it was going to," he said.

"The Newsroom" season 3 premieres on November 9.
