Killer Mike And El-P Are Releasing Their New ‘Run The Jewels 2’ EP With Two Possible Editions: A Gordon Ramsay ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ Mock Episode And A Meow Cat Version

Kickstarter has funded projects as big as Zach Braff's latest film and as small as one guy's quest for a perfect dinner, so it's not really surprising that fans are using the site to fund rap duo Killer Mike and El-P's upcoming EP, "Run the Jewels 2." What is surprising however are the special editions that are being offered in exchange for monetary contribution to the production of the EP. The first one is a Gordon Ramsay "Kitchen Nightmares" episode, except it will star Killer Mike and El-P impersonating Ramsay. The second is the new EP as sung entirely by meow cats.

"We are raising $40k so my two favorite artists, Killer Mike and El-P, will remix ‘Run The Jewels 2' with all cat sounds for the music," says Meow the Jewels via the Kickstarter page entitled "Meow the Jewels." The Kickstarter page owner claims to have the full support of El-P in the venture to produce a special version of their upcoming EP "Run the Jewels 2" but this time as performed through cat noises. In fact, your own cat will be featured on the album if you donate more than $1000, in which the end result would of course be being able to say that your cat is now a featured rap artists.

On the Media reports that in addition to "Meow the Jewels," there is also the "We Are Gordon Ramsay" package which will involve Killer Mike and El-P pretending to be Gordon Ramsay and taking over a restaurant of the donor's choice. After reading on however, it is clear to be a joke fund as it states, "‘Run the Jewels' reserves the right to take your money and not fulfill any of its obligations as outlined in any package priced at 35k or more." It also doesn't help that they've failed to spell the famous chef's last name correctly.

While the Gordon Ramsay package seems entertaining enough, it would seem that only the "Meow the Jewels" project is somewhat viable. In fact, they've even promised to donate any money raised over the goal to charities supporting families that have been victims of police brutality. With that end result in addition to a meow cats version of "Run the Jewels 2" EP, it's hard to see the project as a bad idea.
