Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Xiaomi's Redmi 1S Continue To Dominate Emerging Markets In Flash Sales, 60,000 Units Prepared For India On Sept.23, Expected To Be Sold Out In Just 10 Seconds?

If you are looking for upcoming Android phones in 2014 that will certainly bring lots of bang for your buck, then you may want to check out the latest midranger from Xiaomi. 

Announced back in May, it's only recently that the Xiaomi Redmi 1S has hit the market, and from day it was destined to succeed. In the past weeks, the Chinese manufacturer has released the smartphone in emerging markets in Asia through flash sales. 

In these flash sales, users will be asked to pre-register in order to be eligible of buying the handset through an online shopping website. By the time the sale begins, thousands of buyers who have been hyped up by the upcoming sale will rush to the website, log-in, and buy the phone right away, thinking that supplies will be limited (as often mentioned in these sales). 

During the last flash sale of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S in India, the manufacturer allotted 40,000 units, and they were gone easily after the flash sale went live. As a result, the Chinese brand will add 20,000 more units for the flash sale scheduled on September 23. 

In case you are intrigued by this unknown smartphone, the Redmi 1S boasts a 4.7-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1GB of RAM, a quad-core CPU, an 8GB of built-in memory and a microSD card slot. 

Also on board the device is a decent 8MP primary camera while a 1.6MP front-facing shooter graces the phone's facade. The phone packs a 2,000mAh battery for power to last an entire day. 

In the report, the Indian online retailer suggests interested buyers to be logged in 2-3 hours before the official sale begins. That reportedly 'increases' their chances of getting one. 

The Xiaomi Redmi 1s costs just INR 5,999 or about $98. Interestingly, the phone sells slightly cheaper in India than in China, which is the homeland of Xiaomi.
