Tim Burton's New Movie Big Eyes Looks Normal; Director Known For His Dark Features Makes Film About Margaret Keane

Known as a master of creep and dark aesthetics, Tim Burton's new movie "Big Eyes" will reportedly showcase the director's take on a "normal" story.

In Tim Burton's new movie, which was inspired by the life of artist Margaret Keane, the director reportedly veered away from his usual concepts and settled on a strong woman character and a feminist message.

The film is a fictionalized take on the life of Margaret who had a knack for painting women and girls with overly large eyes. The catch: Her husband Walter took credit for her works and rose to great fame in the late 50s and early 60s because of the paintings' bizaare style. She later got fed up with the fraud and divorced his husband. She also filed a case against him to get the rights for her masterpieces, consequently outing her husband..

Playing the role of Margaret is Amy Adams, who the Huffington Post suggested will get an Oscar nomination for her performance. Christoph Waltz plays the character of Walter. Also starring in the film are Krysten Ritter, Danny Huston, Jason Schwartzman and Terence Stamp.

A trailer for Tim Burton's new movie has been released on September 19.

The teaser opens with Adams talking to her pet dog and confessing the truth about the paintings. "I painted every single one of them," she said. "Every big eye. Me and no one will ever know but you. This is what it's to come huh? You're the only living soul I can tell my secret to."

Imposing patriarchy and completely manipulating his wife, Waltz (who plays the character of Walter) tells Adams in another scene that "The painting says Keane. I'm Keane - you're Keane. People don't buy lady art."

Tim Burton's new movie is set to be in theaters on Christmas day, December 25.
