Panic! At The Disco Drops Emo-Free Version of Iconic Queen Hit `Bohemian Rhapsody' To YouTube; Brian May Takes To Facebook To Dispel Fears of Panic! At The Disco

Panic! at the Disco closed most shows on their recent Gospel Tour with the Queen classic opus "Bohemian Rhapsody." Brendon Urie and company gave a faithful but rousing rendition of the Queen signature tune. Even Brian May, Queen's guitarist, got behind it.

Queen itself used pre-recorded backing vocals to reproduce "Bohemian Rhapsody" in concert. "Bohemian Rhapsody," combines a symphonic sound and operatic chorus.

Panic! At The Disco has been covering "Bohemian Rhapsody" for years. Though the emo rockers ended their Gospel tour on Aug. 28 in San Jose, Panic! At The Disco released their live version of the Queen perennial hit "Bohemian Rhapsody" on YouTube.

Panic! At The Disco singer Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith toured with a retooled version of the band, which have been touring with Fall Out Boy and Linkin Park on their Gospel Tour.

Brian May blistered his fingers and gold coin guitar pick to turn "Bohemian Rhapsody" into a hard rock scorcher. The guitarist of Queen posted his approval of the rendition to Facebook, saying merely "Panic At The Disco have posted a live video of Bo Rhap from their current tour."

Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" was a huge hit in 1975. The song stood at  number one on the U.K. singles charts for nine weeks. It is the third best-selling single of all time in Britain. It has been part of the collective unconscious since it was a too-long-for-radio-play hit that became a radio staple. Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" was featured on TV shows like "Sons of Anarchy" and was the basis of the best driving scenes in film when Wayne, Garth and friends sang along in the movie "Wayne's World."

Panic! at the Disco were formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2004 at Bishop Gorman High School. Brendon Urie sings lead and also plays guitar and piano, and drummer Spencer Smith were joined by bass guitarist Dallon Weekes in 2010. The band's debut studio album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out came out in 2005 and produced the top ten lead single, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies."

Ryan Ross and Brent Wilson left in 2006.

The band is now a trio featuring Spencer Smith, Brendon Urie, and Dallon Weekes. Only two original members of Panic! At The Disco are still in the band.  They are touring behind their latest album, "Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!"
