They have been dating since last year and have been seen together in society events and in the best restaurants in town, however, Russel Brand and Jemima Khan are said to have decided to end their relationship on Saturday night this week. A source who spoke with Mail Online further revealed that Khan has even unfollowed the comedian on her Twitter account, a gesture that is very uncommon to the socialite who has remained friends with her exes. 

"The relationship has simply run its course," the source said.

Reasons of the breakup are yet to be known as representatives from both sides have not released statements yet. However, friends of the 40-year old heiress of an Oxfordshire mansion, said that it is Jemima who had initiated the split since last month.

Since then, she is seen on her own without Brand when going to her favorite place, The Chiltern Firehouse, and is just accompanied by her Alsation dog, Brian.

Sources from the Mirror tried to get the 39-year old comedian's side but he was unavailable for a short interview. They also tried to find some news on his Twitter, however, no posts relating to the split could be found. Instead, he posted scores of a football match between West Ham United against Liverpool.

Russell Brand had been linked to 29-year old pop star Katy Perry and since the end of the relationship had short-lived relationships with 40-year old supermodel, Kate Moss and Geri Halliwell, 42 who had her fame in the 90s as a Spice Girl.

Jemima is also married to ex-Imran Khan who is a cricketer and has dated 54-year old British actor, Hugh Grant.

In the early phase of their relationship, the political activist expressed his sincerity and will to make his relationship work out saying in a chat with Jonathan Ross on ITV saying, "I'm going to be really kind in this relationship. I haven't been out there trying to nail everyone. I'm very, very happy in a relationship that feels very different from anything I've ­experienced before. I feel like it's grounded in friendship and a sort of love and it's all well cool and exciting and stuff."

Meanwhile,  Robin Birley,  Jemima's half-brother has expressed his dislike towards the actor since the start of the relationship and has even banned him from entering and using the services of the club No 5 in Heartford Street, in which Birley has exclusive membership.
