Aside from the iPhone 6, Apple fanatics are looking forward to other gadgets from the company such as the ipad Mini 2014 release date.

According to sources, the iPad Mini 3 will be referred to as "Ipad Mini Air". Its predecessor, the iPad Mini 2, was actually dubbed "iPad mini with Retina display". It will be a continuation of the "Air" series which includes the iPad Air and MacBook Air. Rumors from Economic Daily News in Taiwan circulated that an iPhone Air is also set to release late in 2014.

In a report by Googleaks.com, Apple will host an event on October 21, 2014 to feature the two new iPads - the iPad Mini 3 and the iPad 6. The official ipad Mini 2014 release date is not yet certain but it is likely it will be exactly a year apart from the iPad Mini 2 launch date. Apple will also introduce the new OS X Yosemite during the October 21 event.

The "iPad Mini Air" reference stems from the fact that the new device will be 30 percent thinner compared to its predecessor. Experts, however, think that a thickness of only 5.25 millimeters in the new iPad is highly unlikely. It is more practical to expect a new gold color, to release which will match other recently released devices such as the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Some of the features to find in the latest model include a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, similar to the iPhone 5s and a powerful A8 processor. The device will also have an 8-megapixel camera and the same 7.9-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. The iPad Mini 2014 release date will also allow buyers to pick their Mini 3's storage capacity. There will be 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage options.
