‘Attack On Titan’ Manga To End In 3 Years? Creator Hajime Isayama Reveals Upcoming Plans For The Series But Still No News On ‘Attack On Titan’ Season Two Release Date

There's been plenty of "Attack on Titan" content to pour over in the past few months including the spinoff Captain Levi origin story, "Attack on Titan: No Regrets" and the latest chapter of the main arc of the series. Fans will get more information on the future of their beloved titan series, as today it was revealed through an interview with Japanese literary magazine Davinci that creator Hajime Isayama has a personal goal to finish the manga in the next three years. He revealed a little bit more about future plans for the manga series, but sadly there was still no news about when fans can expect the next season of the anime adaptation.

"Personally, I think the manga will continue for three more years. I'd like to end things quickly, with a tight pace of story developments," said Isayama in a recent interview as reported by Rocket News 24. This announcement, in combination with his announcement that the series would end at volume 20 suggest that Isayama is working diligently toward a solid ending to the series.

There are many pros and cons to having a particularly long manga series. "One Piece" is a good example of how much success a series can have over the course of dozens of volumes. However, the major con with long manga series is best exemplified with the current hiatus of "Hunter x Hunter," rather, the longer a series goes on, the more likely it is that old age and other life experience has the potential to delay a solid ending. In the case of "Attack on Titan," it appears that Hajime Isayama has always had a clear ending that he's been working toward. While he admits that more characters have extended the series past what he originally had in mind, he still clearly has his eyes set on finishing "Attack on Titan," soon.

As with any "Attack on Titan" news, fans are still waiting to hear of when they can expect season two of the anime to air. Sadly the creator had nothing to say in regards to the anime adaptation, so fans will still have to wait patiently for that announcement. Overall it's good news that "Attack on Titan" will end in three years because then at least there will be no worry that Isayama won't finish the series before he's too old to finish it.
