Reality TV star Bethenny Frankel is returning to season seven of "The Real Housewives of New York City" (RHONY) four years after infamously quitting the show. According to US Magazine, Frankel's self-titled daytime talk show was cancelled in February, and producers hope that her return will boost ratings the show, which dropped to 1 million during season six.

Though some sources say that bringing Frankel back is "a last ditch effort," Frankel will definitely benefit from her return. She will be given a chance to promote her Skinnygirl products, which include cocktail and shapewear clothing as well as several books. One book that stands out from the others is "Cookie Meets Peanut," which was inspired by her 4-year-old daughter Bryn and her dog, Cookie.

 Frankel has been busy ever since her departure from the reality show back in 2010. US Magazine reports that Frankel gave birth to her daughter just four months before she announced she wouldn't be returning, and consequently saw no reason to go back. In 2011, she starred in Bravo's "Bethenny Getting Married?" and subsequently in "Bethenny Ever After," which chronicled her relationship with Jason Hoppy and her journey as a mother.

Hoppy and Frankel divorced in 2012, and were tied up in an ugly legal battle for their daughter for more than a year. Their custody dispute over Bryn has only recently been settled.

But Frankel isn't the only one who has gone through some major changes. RHONY itself only hosts two of the original housewives - LuAnn de Lesseps and Ramona Singer - in recurring roles. The other current stars of the show include Sonja Morgan, Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, and Kristen Taekman.

The other two original RHONY stars, Bensimon and Zarin, left in 2011, but there is a chance they may also be making an appearance on the show. However, sources say that so far the chances of this occurring are "just talk."
