Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’: Early IMAX Release Date Set For November 5th, Trailers, Posters, Photos, Cast And Spoilers

Although critically acclaimed director Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" is still a month away, there's plenty of information for fans to pour over. Today the newest trailer for "Interstellar" was released as well as an announcement that the film will get an early IMAX release starting November 5th before it's statewide release on November 7th. Here's a compilation of the current trailers, posters, photos, announced cast, and speculative spoilers (Nolan does his best to make sure nothing is revealed too soon).

IMDB describes the story of "Interstellar": "A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage." This is all pretty much apparent based on the trailers and TV spots that have been released.

The film stars Matthew McConaughey as Cooper, an engineer/farmer/father. He's also one of the best pilots that Academy Award winner Michael Caine has ever seen, or so he says so in one of the trailers. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and Casey Affleck. There are plenty of other big names in addition to these, including Matt Damon, John Lithgow, and "Selma" breakout star David Oyelowo.

Based on the trailers and set photos released, there's two things audiences should know for sure: there will be space travel, and it will be on an epic scale. It's no surprise how beautiful set photography because Director of Photography Hoyte Van Hoytema is no stranger to creating Oscar buzz worthy masterpieces. Some of his previous projects include last years award winning sci-fi romance "Her" and "The Fighter."

The four posters are where people began to wonder if the marketing team was attempting to reveal plot spoilers under the radar of Christopher Nolan's secrecy. In fact, JoBlo went to the extent of theorizing that the posters spell out the plot of the film: first McConaughey and his children live in a desolate earth, then McConaughey travels out to space, he discovers two new worlds (ice and water), and then returns to Earth only to find his children have aged drastically and he has not.

It's a pretty good speculation to make based on the posters and the taglines. Moreover, the theory seems to be supported by two different dialogue utterances about time passing drastically while in space in the latest trailers. However, as audiences saw before with Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" Talia al Ghul twist ending, there's a possibility audiences are in store for another surprising ending.

"Interstellar" will hit various IMAX theaters starting November 5th and then all theaters on November 7th.
