Upcoming Android Phones 2014: This New Smartphone Packs A Fingerprint Scanner, IR Blaster, 5.5" Display, Costs Only $219

Last month, there have been a lot of upcoming Android phones for 2014, especially those which were announced at the IFA event in Berlin.

However, for Indian manufacturer Xolo, it does not matter whether they were in the showcase or not. What the company has recently launched is certainly worth a second look.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the phone maker has announced the Xolo Q2100, a midrange Android device that only costs $219. But if you think this smartphone is just like any midranger today, you're terribly mistaken.

The Q2100 boasts an IR blaster which can make the smartphone a remote control to your TV sets. Above all, it packs a fingerprint scanner for added security.

If you are an Android fan and you want to try the fingerprint scanning technology, but cannot afford the big budget smartphones currently available in the market, Xolo's Q2100 should be a decent buy.

Aside from the IR blaster and fingerprint sensor, the smartphone also features some decent specs for a midranger. That includes 5.5-inch IPS display with (1280 x 720) resolution, 1GB of RAM,MediaTek MT6582 chipset with a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, and 8GB of built-in memory that can be expanded with the provided microSD card slot.

Other specs of this Xolo smartphone include an 8MP camera at the back with Sony Exmor R sensor and dual-LED flash, Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box, and 2,800mAh battery.
