Angry Birds Movie Cast Release Date: Angry Birds will swoop into theaters on July 1, 2016. One billion birds were slung in the Angry Birds game. Columbia Pictures and Rovio announced that the film based on the runaway video game hit will have an all-star cast led by Jason Sudeikis as Red, Josh Gad as Chuck, Danny Mcbride as Bomb, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph and Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage.

In the last two days, Angry Birds fans have discovered a reveal in the game: by slinging one billion birds they could unlock the voice cast and get a sneak peek at the new look of the characters of the Angry Birds feature film.

Angry Bird Producer John Cohen said, "I'm extremely proud of this cast.  Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Danny, Bill, Maya, and Peter bringing these characters to life, but they're surrounded by an all-star ensemble of emerging comedic talent - these are some of the funniest people out there today, and we're thrilled to have them all on board."

Dwight Caines, president, Theatrical Marketing for Sony Pictures, said, "With two and a half billion gamers around the world, Angry Birds is one of those brands that can drive massive fan engagement.  That's why we wanted to bring this unlock to the fans first.  Our filmmakers are cooking up a hilarious movie, and we know these fans can't wait to see how they're going to bring the Angry Birds' story to life on the big screen of movie theaters."

Jason Sudeikis from the films "Horrible Bosses" and last year's "We're the Millers" with Jennifer Aniston,  lead the Angry Birds cast as Red, a bird with a bad temper.  Josh Gad makes his first animated role since the global smash hit Frozen as the speedy Chuck. Danny McBride from the film "This is the End" and the series "Eastbound & Down" plays the volatile Bomb.  Bill Hader, who just ended his tenure at "Saturday Night Live," but also voiced a character in the animated film "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" is the pork side. Maya Rudolph from "Bridesmaids" and "The Maya Rudolph Show," will play Matilda. Peter Dinklage, from HBO's "Game of Thrones" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" soars as the legendary Mighty Eagle.

Keegan-Michael Key from Comedy Central's "Key & Peele," Kate McKinnon, who was nominated for an Emmy for her work on "Saturday Night Live," Tony Hale, who won an Emmy for whispering in the ear of "Veep," and starred on  the series "Arrested Development," Ike Barinholtz from "Neighbors" and "The Mindy Project," Hannibal Buress from Broad City and Neighbors, Cristela Alonzo, who we will see on ABC's upcoming "Cristela, Jillian Bell from "22 Jump Street," Danielle Brooks from "Orange is the New Black," Grammy nominee and Latin music sensation Romeo Santos, and YouTube stars Smosh (Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla), who have over 30 million YouTube subscribers, also join the flock.

"We heard limbs and dialogue were all the rage in modern animation so we went all in. Not just one, but all of our characters have legs and wings! Except for the pigs, that is," added Blanca Juti, Chief Marketing Officer of Rovio.

Angry Birds is Rovio's first feature film. Fans were introduced to the Angry Birds world with the weekly Angry Birds Toons animated series, which Rovio launched the series last year
