Leonardo DiCaprio News: Wolf Of Wall Street' Star Leaves Steve Jobs Biopic As Studio Revealed Shortlist Of Possible Candidates! Who Are They?

Admirers of Apple and its co-founder, Steve Jobs have already seen one biographical film based on the late legendary Steve Jobs. However, not many agreed that the biographical drama film based on the life of Steve Jobs left a little to be desired when it came to presenting a clear-cut portrait of Jobs on screen.

The good news for those moviegoers is that there is currently an untitled Jobs biopic in development which is written by Academy and Emmy-award winning Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network). It has already generated buzz as the story is being revealed in three big, 30 minutes scenes. It highlights the launch of the first iPod, NeXT computer and the original Macintosh computer.

Having such a skilled copyist on board certainly is an advantage as far as the prestige department is concerned, however it requires more than just a script to put a film together. The biopic has been in development for the past three years and now it finally found a director in the form of Danny Boyle, however the biopic is still without a leading man.

It was reported that Boyle was approaching Leonardo DiCaprio to take on the role of Jobs but apparently this won't happen. As reported by Hollywood Reporter DiCaprio has stepped out as he intends to take a break from acting following production of Alejandro González Iñarritu's The Revenant.

Sony is apparently in need of finding someone capable of heading what seems to be on paper, a potential awards contender. THR disclosed its star-studded shortlist for possible candidate. The wish list includes names of Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, however, which one among those names is ahead of others is still unknown.

Christian Bale was Fincher's choice for Jobs role when he was in talks to direct. It seemed like a tempting proposal to Sony as well since the actor is being eyed by the studio to portray jobs. Bale's plate is comparatively clean other than Andy Serkis' Jungle Book: Origins which he recently signed on to play Bagheera in.

Ben Affleck has a packed schedule with batman vs superman dawn of justice to be completed on priority post which he will start his directorial venture live by night and simultaneously complete shooting for the accountant Ridley Scott is also busy with the possibility of the Bourne series coming up with a sequel as well as doing a role in The Great Waterfall.

Out of the non-Bale contenders, Cooper has the clearest schedule but he too may not be available for long as he is been attached to star in Warner Bros. American Blood. The film is director-less at present but the studio would want to get the project started as soon as possible which means he could soon be tied up with work.

There's no confirmation as to when Jobs film will be released but since the studio is preparing a wish list of actors now, it's possible that they would like the movie to be ready for award season 2015. It seems like Sony wants an honored actor to join them in hunt for Oscar gold.
