Sarah Silverman is returning to "SNL" - according to E! News, she served as a cast member briefly in the early 1990s. Next week, Bill Hader returns to hosting season 40. Hozier is his musical guest.

According to TIME, Sarah Silverman joined "SNL" as a writer and performer in 1993 but only lasted for one season. (See some of her clips here.)

Also, a familiar new voice will do the live intro for "Saturday Night Live" starting with the season 40 premiere. Veteran performer Darrell Hammond will return to the show as announcer, replacing the late Don Pardo.
