Install Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update On HTC One M8; CyanogenMod11 M10 Custom ROM Now Available For 2014 Smartphone

HTC One M8 users can now install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update via a custom ROM!

A new custom firmware based on Google's latest mobile operating system has been released. This allows the HTC One M8 owners to install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on their handset device.

Based on the specs list posted on GSM Arena, the latest and official update made available for the HTC One M8 is the Android 4.4.4. KitKat. But luckily, custom Android developers were able to create a firmware based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat update compatible with the 2014 smartphone from the Taiwanese phone maker.

HTC One M8 was announced March 2014 and it was releasead on the same month.

Particularly, users can install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on HTC One M8 using the CyanogenMod firmware or the CM11 M10 ROM.

According to a report on International Business Times, the new CM11 M10 custom ROM available for the HTC One M8 is based on Android Open Source Project or AOSP version 4.4.4 KitKat OS. The post further noted that the firmware is said to "...bring customisation options to boost device performance, new visual interface, easy access to key apps and loads of personalisation options..."

But before officially installing Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, there are some requirements and conditions that needs to be met first:

Create backup of the data and settings stored on the HTC One M8 using custom recovery tools like ClockWorkMod and TWRP. 

Install the appropriate USB drivers of the HTC One M8 on the computer so the Android device will easily connect with the PC during the process.

Make sure that the HTC One M8 has 80 percent battery level or more before installing Android 4.4.4 KitKat update.

Enable USB Debugging mode on the smartphone by going to Settings > Developer Options.
