Ben Affleck's R-rated thriller film opened successfully in the US with $13.2 million box office earnings on Friday. The movie came second at the Friday box office, with "Annabelle" getting the top spot ($15.5 million).

Also starring Rosamund Pike and "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris, "Gone Girl" is expected to rake in more than $38 million on its first weekend.

More moviegoers will be able watch "Gone Girl" full movie as it is set to open in more countries next week. Accordingly, the film will be released in theaters in Belgium, France, Philippines and Luxembourg on October 8. The following day, it will arrive on Aruba, Czech Republic, Singapore and Taiwan.
