Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE users can now install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update via official firmware.

According to the Samsung Galaxy S3 info page on GSM Arena, the smartphone was announced in 2012 and was released on September of the same year. The smartphone originally comes with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and is now upgradeable to official Android 4.4.4KitKat update.

The post on International Business Times notes that an official firmware based on Android 4.4.4KitKat update is available for the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE, particularly those bearing the model number GT-I9305.

The firmware comes with build number I9305XXUFNI3 can now be downloaded via Over-the-Air process or OTA update. Also, those who are interested to install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update should be able to get the firmware via the Samsung KIES server.

There are also some important requirements to satisfy before users install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE GT-19305.

Users should have a backup of the data and settings stored on the smartphone before proceeding to install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update. To do so, use recommended custom recovery tools such as ClockWorkMod or TWRP.

Enable USB Debugging Mode on Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE GT-19305. Go to Settings > Developer Options.

Battery level needs to be 80 percent or more to avoid power interruption issues once the installation process begins.

A few days before Samsung released the latest KitKat software for the GT-I9305N variant of Galaxy S3. A similar update is making its way through the international LTE Galaxy S3 (I9305) model.

Based on Android 4.4.4, the update comes with build number I9305XXUFNI3, which should be available via Samsung Kies and OTA update.

The I9305XXUFNI3 firmware is now live for users in Germany. Those who are outside Germany can also get the update by following the manual installation method below which uses Odin flash tool.

Note that the I9305XXUFNI3 build is an unbranded version of firmware and can be installed on anyunlocked GT-I9305 unit, irrespective of country and region.
