Watch The 2014 World Gymnastics Championships US Qualifying Before The Team Event And All-Around [VIDEO]

This week, the 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships is taking place, and Team USA dominated the qualifying round.

Taking place at the Guangxi Sports Center Gymnasium in Nanjing, China, Team USA features reigning world champion Simone Biles, Alyssa Baumann, Madison Kocian, Ashton Locklear, MyKayla Skinner, and 2012 Olympic gold medalist Kyla Ross. After the qualifying round, Team USA scored 235.038 at first place compared to China's 230.763.

“I’m kind of held together by tape right now,” said Kyla Ross according to NBC Sports. “The last few days at the ranch [the U.S. National Team Training Center], I think I kind of overstretched it doing a few leaps. It’s my hip, groin and hamstring – that whole area. [team doctor Larry Nassar has] been working really hard. I’ve been in the training room more than my actual room [laughs]. But, it felt pretty good today. I was glad I was able to do all four events.”

Fortunately, despite a hip injury which has forced her to downgrade her uneven bars routine, Ross qualified for the individual all-around along with Simone Biles.

Biles, after dominating the 2013 World Gymnastics Championships, stands at the top of qualifications for the individual all-around with 59.599, right ahead of Aliya Mustafina of Russia, Larisa Iordache of Romania, and Yao Jinnan of China.
