Robert Downey, Jr. has totally evolved into an uber-superstar after taking the Iron Man role. After starring in the most successful box-office trilogy for a solo hero, he has not confirmed a return for "Iron Man 4" --Until an appearance in "Ellen."

One of TV's best talk show hosts, Ellen de Generes put the lowdown on the enigmatic Iron Man star. Marvel's most outspoken actor on and off the camera tried to linger, but as E Online transcribes(from a video in their site):

"It took a little prompting to get to this answer, though. 'I know there are going to be a bunch more Marvel movies,' he said at first, 'and they have big ideas of how to do it best and [they're] in the middle of negotiation, blah blah blah...'"

This is not what the millions of fans want to hear, and neither did it sit well with Ellen. So:

"Ellen decoded the response for him, though, saying, 'So, yes?'

Then and only then did RDJ concede, confirming, 'OK, yes!'"

So there you have it-there will be an "Iron Man 4."

There is also the other issue that he has demanded Mel Gibson to direct the film-in fact, he will only return if "Braveheart" is the helmsman-it was clarified in a Reddit AMA:

"It was an offhanded remark to a journalist and friend. I have other projects in mind for Mel and I - sooner than later the Marvel Roster will be made public and all questions will be answered."

It's difficult to imagine Marvel without RDJ. But RDJ also made himself synonymous with the film studio and that might stretch even on TV. Tony Stark is bound to head the replacement SHIELD, so it's logical for him to meet up with the agents. In the same Reddit AMA, on appearing in Agents of SHIELD:

"Nothing is impossible. But there might be a fair amount of red tape involved in something like that. I love Clark Gregg, and am pleased the show is doing so well."
