NCAA Basketball 2014-15 Season: Kentucky Vs Duke! Recruiting Powerhouses To Clash In The Finals? Top Draft Pick Also Disputed!

The top recruiting schools for NCAA Basketball 2014-15 Season may be on a collision course. While they are always near the summit, this is the first time in four years that Kentucky coach John Calipari is looking at the top recruiting class and it's not his. But he has his best title shot.

Kentucky has four Five Star recruits (according to ESPN ratings). A rundown of who they have:

"Kentucky has four top 35 recruits already in the fold. The newest pledge is No. 6 recruit Trey Lyles. Karl Towns Jr. is a talented five-star center with tremendous size, skill and off-the-charts potential who has been committed for close to a year after reclassifying. Point guard Tyler Ulis is one of the most fast-rising and consistent players in the class. Ulis is a cat-quick, pass-first point guard who can score whenever the opportunity presents itself. He is also a one-man fast break and press offense. Ulis is a high-end four-star prospect who is small but can play and will quiet the doubters. Five-star shooting guard Devin Booker is an excellent 3-point shooter who is versatile enough to play either the 2 or 3 and has a high ceiling for improvement."

But what gives Kentucky the edge is the holdovers. This is the only year that the Wildcats were not completely strafed by the NBA draft. While it's the result of an underwhelming early season, they recovered to make it all the way to the Finals. Adding this class and losing only James Young and Julius Randle. Their first time in years to not have a top 5 pick.

Duke also has four Five Star recruits, highlighted by No.1 recruit Jahlil Okafor, as ESPN also narrates:

"Duke went from unranked to No. 2 in the class rankings after landing the package deal of No. 1 Jahlil Okafor (Chicago/Whitney Young) and No. 4 Tyus Jones (Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley). The Blue Devils are getting two players who already have chemistry on the court, which is a big advantage. Securing the two best players at the most important positions on the floor likely will make Duke the preseason No. 1 next fall. Okafor and Jones will be joined by fellow ESPN 100 prospects Grayson Allen and No. 15 Justise Winslow."

Despite losing their two best players Jabari Parker and Rodney Hood, Coach Mike Krzyzewski just wrapped up his most successful Team USA outing (considering the lineup he was handed with), the Blue Devils are on a high!

Will the top freshman classes book a collision course in the NCAA Championship game? It won't be a stretch, that's for sure! It is also probable that the no.1 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft was mentioned here.
