Cleveland Cavalies Roster Not Making Pre-Season Match Against Heat A Big Deal, Would Aim To Get The Job Done

The Cleveland Cavaliers roster will be taking on LeBron James' former team, the Miami Heat during their first match together. However, the game would not be held in either Miami or Cleveland as the teams will be promoting NBA basketball in Brazil this coming weekend.

With the two teams squaring off for the first time since the big Decision 2.0 where LeBron withdrew his talents from South Beach and returned to Northeast Ohio, this is certainly a must-see event, one may even consider it a birth of a new rivalry.

However, as Cavs coach David Blatt says, the rivalry may not be exactly the headline for this game, but rather the homecoming of Cavs veteran Anderson Varejao.

Varejao has been represeing Brazil in a number of international games already, and most recently the FIBA World Cup in Spain, and so more people might cheer their hometown hero first before LeBron, Wade, Irving, Bosh or Love.

"I think it takes the pressure off of both sides, actually," says Blatt in an interview. "I really do."

As for James himself, he does not think too much about the game as he considers it an exhibition and nothing else. Instead of focusing on the rivalry, both teams should focus on promoting NBA in Rio de Janeiro and throughout Brazil, which is one of the 10 most populous countries in the world.

"It's a preseason game. It's in Brazil so it's not really on an NBA floor, as well. But it gives us an opportunity to keep on continuing to broaden the game in a huge, worldwide aspect and it will be great for both teams", LBJ said in an interview with ESPN

During Cleveland's stay in Brazil, coach Blatt expects Varejao to serve as their tour guide and planning for the various team-building activities the team needs in order to stay intact and be comfortable with one another.

During the off-season, the Cavs acquired six veterans which include James, Love, Shawn Marion, Mike Miller, James Jones and Keith Bogans.
