3rd Annual CBGB Music & Film Festival Announces Free Times Square Concert on October 12; Jane's Addiction and Devo Headline CBGB Music and Film Festival; Billy Idol Scowls

Jane's Addiction, Billy Idol and Devo are celebrating the punk energy of CBGB, the bar that started as a country, blue grass blues bar. The 2014 CBGB Music & Film Festival announced the lineup of its free Times Square concert, which will bring a grand finale to the annual five-day festival. CBGB will host New York City's largest free concert taking over six city blocks on Sunday, October 12, from 10:00am to 7:30pm.

Hundreds of bands will play 50 venues throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn.  Featured artists include Jane's Addiction, Devo, Dirty South, Robert Delong, Billy Idol, Surfer Blood, We Are Scientists, J-pop band Cheeky Parade, Face the King, Midnight Mob, Ex Cops and Walking Papers featuring Duff McKagan.

Between the two main stages lies 6 blocks of FREE activities including: rock climbing wall, surf simulator, Guitar Hero challenge, classic arcade games, a "dunk the punk" tank, cupcake building, a smashing pumpkins booth dedicated to children to literally smash pumpkins and more.

Because this is CBGB, there will be a photo graffiti wall. There will also be acoustic stages, and free haircuts, styling and temporary tattoos by Rudy's Barbershop and Two Boots Pizza's pizza eating contest.

The official sponsor of the VIP artist lounge, EXPRESS, will create an interactive environment so headliners can recharge before hitting the red carpet and in between sets.

The CBGB Festival also announced two VIP Packages available to Jane's Addiction and Devo fans.  The Jane's Addiction VIP Package includes access to the Icon Award Ceremony honoring Jane's Addiction who will be in attendance to accept the award at Center 548 on Saturday, October 11th from 9:00pm - 10:30pm.
