Halo 5 Guardians: Main Character Controversy? Trailer & Release Date Gameplay [NEWS]

Halo 5: Guardians voice actor Mike Coulter's recent comment about Agent Lock being the "primary character" for the game has spurred rumors about Master Chief not being the main character for the game.

"Once Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released, and then Halo 5 comes out shortly thereafter, you're basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character," Colter said, according to Polygon.

"I'll have some cool weaponry, and some cool abilities, because by that time I'll be a Spartan IV."

Halo 5: Guardians is rumored to include Ur-Didact, a villain equipped with an army of Prometheans, since he survived a bomb blast after being thought to be dead, Gameranx reports.

"Though Halo 4 ended with a subdued Ur-Didact being strapped with a bomb, the still on-going comic series Halo: Escalation revealed in recent issues the events immediately happening after the game," the website writes.

"For starters, Ur-Didact survived the blast, and landed near an installment with even more Composers, a powerful Forerunner weapon which can digitize sentient creatures first shown in Halo 4's campaign."

Halo 5: Guardians is rumored to be the last game within the series with a Master Chief appearance, Movie Pilot reports.

"He [Master Chief] is human, he's always been human, but at the end of Halo 4 he really is reflecting on who he is and why he exists," 343 Studios representative Bonnie Ross said, according to the site.

Fans looking for beta rewards are being encouraged to purchase and watch Halo: Nightfall, Kotaku reports.

"We will go into more specifics a little later down the road, but we definitely want [Halo 5 beta] rewards to feel meaningful for the player. So it's not just art [things]," Halo 5: Guardians executive producer Kiki Wolfkill told the site during a recent interview.

Microsoft has announced a Chinese localized version of Halo 5: Guardians for its upcoming release date, Attack of the Fan Boy reports.

The move is seen as an attempt to popularize Microsoft gaming consoles in Asia, where Sony has traditionally pulled more weight.
