Earlier this week a Facebook Group reported the actor to have passed away. The Facebook page with more than 59,000 people "Like" has included many fans leaving their messages of condolences as posts under the news.

Fans have expressed their distress as it spread all over the internet like wild fire, sparking a flurry of rumors and reports.

One angry fan wrote, "What a jerk you are for writing this. Get a life!!"

The legendary actor seems to be another victim of celebrity death hoaxes over the recent months as numerous sites have falsely reported about famous celebrities alleged deaths.

A representative from Morgan Freeman verified that he was alive and fortunately nothing had happened to him. He said, "Morgan is alive and well, and joins the long list of actors who have been victimized by this hoax."
