The new episode of "The Royals" featured a car crash that involved Prince Liam and his ex-girlfriend Gemma.

A clip from the show's latest episode showed Prince Liam's former girlfriend Gemma trying to make her moves on the prince. This became some form of distraction and resulted in the car crashing straight into a phone booth, leaving Gemma a little bloody and her car ruined.  

The clip also showed how the royal security guards chose to handle the situation by disobeying the young prince's wish to stay behind, and extricating him from the car crash scene.

According to E!, the shoot for Prince Liam's car accident did not go exactly as they had planned. During the filming of the car crash sequence, the Range Rover ended up hitting half of the phone booth which wasn't their original intention.

The behind-the-scenes clip showed Alexandra Park (Princess Eleanor) and Tom Austen (Jasper) clowning around and explaining the scene that they were filming.

Mark Schwanns, the showrunner and creator of "The Royals" was interviewed in the behind-the-scenes clips.

"When you're doing a stunt like that, you're probably going to get one chance at it, because you don't have a second Range Rover and you probably don't have a second phone box," he explained.  

"And then what happens is, you hit half of the phone box, which was not planned," Schwann continued.

The crew are shown laughing after the car crash scene because of the unexpected crash.

Tom Austen also explained in the clip how his character Jasper, has become the unlikely hero in the situation. "What we're shooting now is the second part of the scene which is where Jasper comes to save the day," the actor said. "You didn't see that one coming did you?"
