5 Killed, 2 Injured in Head-on Collision in Southwest Georgia

Friday night collision on West Point Road killed five people in LaGrange, Georgia according to the Georgia State Patrol.

John Hart, a witness of the awful crash describes, "It was the awfulest thing I have ever seen and I've seen a few car crashes," LaGrangeNews reported.

"It looked like the back end of that car passed the front end. The car was bent like an L and the back end was raised so you could see the gas tank and the shock absorbers," Hart said.

Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright says a two-vehicle crash happened around 6:45 p.m. Friday near LaGrange, about 45 miles north of Columbus.

Authorities have yet to release any names involved in the crash and cause of the crash yet but believes that alcohol might have been involved.
