The suspect of the Delaware courthouse shooting on Monday that left three dead was identified as Thomas Matusiewicz, the ex-father-in-law of one of the victims according to Associated Press.

Matusiewicz was fatally shot and died outside the courthouse during the gunfire exchange with the police.

Police source state Matusiewicz's intended target was 39-year-old Christine Belford, the ex-wife of Matusiewicz's son, David Matusiewicz. Police officials confirm the shooting was related to an ongoing child custody dispute case.

"This was not a random shooting," said Delaware State Police Sgt. Paul Shavack.

The victims were Christine Belford, 39 she was at one point married to the shooter's son, David, and her friend Laura Elizabeth Mulford of Newark.
