Larry Bird's Son Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Run Over Ex-Girlfriend

Conner Bird, the son of former Basketball player Larry Bird, was arrested Sunday by Indiana Campus police accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend with his car.

Bird was charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, battery with injury, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

"It is a private matter we are hoping to resolve as quickly as possible," said Connor Bird's attorney, John Tompkins, in a statement. "We are happy no one was seriously hurt."

Police say Bird and his ex-girlfriend, who has not been identified, were involved in an argument at which point Bird threw a cellphone at the alleged victim.

Then another altercation took place in a parking lot as Bird took the victim to talk things over, then victim got out of the car, leading Bird to attempt to hit her with his car twice, the Indianapolis Star reported.
