'Melrose Place' Actress Sentenced: Amy Locane-Bovenizer Is Given Three Years For DUI That Killed 60-Year-Old, Allegedly Giggles After Accident

"Melrose Place" Actress Amy Locane-Bovenizer  was sentenced to three years in prison Thursday for the 2010 death of 60-year-old woman, Helene Seeman. Locane-Bovenizer's SUV hit Seeman's car.

The "Melrose Place" actress, who played Sandy Louise Harling on the 1990s Fox primetime soap opera, faced up to 10 years in prison for the vehicular manslaughter of  Seeman.

But the Somerville, New Jersey judge offered her a lighter sentence because her Locane-Boveni's two children are disabled---one of her children has a mental and physical disability, according to The Daily News.

"What a travesty!" the victim's husband screamed at the judge after Thursday's sentencing. He and his son then stormed out of the courtroom.

The 39-year-old "Melrose Place" actress, who lives in Hopewell, New Jersey had a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit when she crashed into Seeman's vehicle as she pulled into her driveway.

The 60-year-old woman's husband was driving.

Back in July of 2011, a police officer who was on the scene of the Montgomery Township crash said Locane-Bovenizer was giggling and laughing directly following the fatal crash.

The officer claimed the "Melrose Place" actress allegedly said that emergency personnel and police were "being overly dramatic."
