Trump Plaza Sold for Mere $20 Million in Atlantic City; Originally Cost $210M To Build!

Trump Plaza in Atlantic City that was once considered the centerpiece of Donald Trump's Atlantic City empire was sold Thursday to Meruelo Group for a bargain price of $20 million.

The deal is reportedly the lowest price ever paid for an Atlantic City Casino, the 39-story built in 1984, cost $210 million to build.

The California based company plans to close the deal by May 31.

Trump Plaza is the one of the first casinos for many visitors in Atlantic City and markets itself as "the center of it all" however became one of the worst-performing casinos in town; as it took in less than $4.9 million last month, a decline of more than 40% from last year.

Trump Plaza isn't the only casino struggling in Atlantic City as several casinos were sold recently at dramatically low prices.
