Sarah Michelle Gellar Pilot: Actress Returns To Television With Robin Williams In Workplace Comedy 'Crazy Ones' On CBS

Sarah Michelle Gellar is filming a pilot with Robin Williams for a CBS show called "Crazy Ones," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The single-camera workplace comedy will focus on a father daughter relationship an advertising agency. It's a half-hour long situation comedy.

Gellar will play Sydney Roberts on the pilot, the daughter of Simon Roberts played by Williams.

Sort of sounds like "Mad Men" meets "Just Shoot Me," a tagline that would probably make "Mad Men" series creator Mathew Weiner want to do the latter.

David E. Kelley ("The Practice," "Boston Legal") will write and executive produce the series. Other executive producers include Dean Lorey, Bill D'Elia, John Montgomery and Mark Teitelbaum.

Jason Winer of "Modern Family" and "1600 Penn" will direct the Sarah Michelle Gellar pilot that will also feature "Political Animals" star James Wolk as Zach Cropper, a copywriter at the agency.

A Wolk-Gellar romantic storyline seems inevitable. Only time will tell if they play it up on the pilot.

Gellar was the star of the cult television classic "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The actress has voiced multiple characters on the animated shows "American Dad", "Robot Chicken" and "The Simpsons." She has also starred in the films "Cruel Intentions" and "Scooby-Doo."

Last year, CW cancelled Gellar's show "Ringers" after just one season.

Williams, who is 61, recently shot the film the "The Butler," in which he plays President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In 1997, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the Gus Van Sant film "Good Will Hunting."
