Mira Sorvino Cast Alongside Jim Gaffigan in CBS Comedy

Mira Sorvino is joining Jim Gaffigan as his opposite female lead in the CBS untitled comedy pilot.

The untitled comedy pilot stars Gaffigan as the married father of five while Sorvino plays his wife Jeannie, a super-wife and super-mom. This is another attempt for her to get onto a TV series after she was cast not once but twice in the pilot for the same show "Trooper."

The pilot is written and produced by Gaffigan and "Rescue Me" creator Peter Tolan, which comes from Sony Television in association with Fedora Entertainment. Michael Wimer and Alex Murray are also executive producing.

Sorvino's acting career primarily has been on the big screen like "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" and "The Mighty Aphrodite." Also won Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 1995 for "Mighty Aphrodite" and appearing in "Beautiful Girls," "The Replacement Killers" and "Gods and Generals." She has made guest appearance and TV movie in the past but hasn't yet take on a starring role in a series.
