Desmond Bryant Arrested: Not Dez Bryant Of The Dallas Cowboys

Desmond Bryant was arrested Sunday morning. It wasn't Desmond(Dez) Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys.

Some reputations may never leave a person. For instance, Dez Byrant, star receiver for the Dallas Cowboys is making news, even when he's not making news.

One reporter from South Florida confirmed that it was indeed Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys.

After hearing that reporters believed it was him, Dez Bryant went to Twitter to express his feelings.

@DezBryant: Ooo s**t false rumors about jail? Lol I was working out at 2 something in the morning in Dallas tx."

The other Desmond Bryant is a defensive tackle for the Oakland Raiders. USA Today reported that the Raiders are still gathering more information on the incident. He is being charged for criminal mischief and on $1,000 bail.

Dez Bryant may have laughed about it via Twitter, but the fellow NFL-player shares the same name, just not the nickname of Dez Bryant. The Cowboys wide out is known throughout the league as Dez.

The bad reputation that follows him is because of his on and off-field troubles.

He was sued in 2011 for allegedly taking jewelry without paying. In 2012, he arrested for a class A misdemeanor for allegedly striking his biological mother. She would not file charges, but it was another blunder on the young career of the star receiver.

Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones has been keeping an eye out on Bryant ever since he was drafted by the team in 2010 as a rookie out of Oklahoma State University.  Jones interviewed with ESPN.com Saturday, believing Bryant is on the right track.

"Dez is in a better place relative to anything that the Cowboys are interested in, which is most everything about him," Jones told ESPN.com. "He's in a better place and that's a positive. ... He's not around the kind of atmosphere or doesn't have the kind of risks that are involved in his life on or off the field that he had seven, eight months ago."

During the 2012 season, Bryant racked up his best overall numbers with the team. He finished with 92 receptions, 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns. This ranked him 10th, 6th and 3rd in the league respetcfully.

The Bryant who was arrested graduated from Harvard. Undrafted, he signed a contract to play for the Oakland Raiders. In his rookie campaign, Bryant played in all 16 games, recording 24 tackles. He followed that up with 2.5 sacks in his sophomore season.

Both Bryant's careers may be heading in different paths.
