John Mara Arrested: Nephew Of NY Giants Owner Charged With First Degree Assault

John Mara who shares the same name with the NY Giants owner was at a New Years Eve party in Connecticut where he allegedly hit another partygoer with a bottle.

CBS reports that the Victim, who has not been named, suffered "life threatening injuries that required immediate surgery."

Mara reportedly turned himself in Friday evening when he learned that there was arrest warrant out in his name.

Mara was arrested on Friday but posted bail in the amount of $150,000. He is due back in court on March 8th in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Mara is being charged with first-degree assault and breach of the peace.

Mara is a student at Fairfield University in Connecticut. His lawyer, William Dow told the Associated Press he will plead not guilty.
